ZVVIKSThe institute ZVVIKS is a production house specializing in the realization of original animated films and cultural education projects in the field of animated film. Since our establishment we have successfully completed a number of animated and audiovisual projects that were screened at various locations throughout the globe. Part of our activities have been intensely focused on cultural education projects for children and youth, with the purpose of transferring knowledge and experience in the field of animated film onto younger generations. In the creation of projects, we cooperate with many artists, mentors, partner organizations and co-producers from the local and international sphere. Our production develops professional animated projects for external authors and is now opening into the regional co-production space as well.
Kolja SaksidaKolja Saksida is a filmmaker, director, producer and educator. He acquired a Master’s degree in Film Studies from the ECAL/Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne, Switzerland in 2014. At the age of fifteen he made his acting debut in the short film Forward by Boris Petković, followed by roles in short films Robbery of the Century, Dark Side of the Moon and feature films Fuck It, Blind Spot, and Installation of Love. As an assistant director he participated in the making of the Academy Award wining film No Man’s Land. His artistic path ultimately led him to animation, which remains his central field of interest. Kolja’s animated series Koyaa was shown on the Slovenian national television throughout the 2005 season. In 2009 he realized the short puppet animation film Kiddo ‘’Slingshot’’, followed in 2011 by the short puppet animation film Koyaa The Extraordinary, in 2012 the short animated film Azulejo or visual illusion in mixed technique and the next episode of his main project Koyaa – Flower in 2013. For the last couple of years Kolja has been organizing children and youth’s animation workshops where he participates as a tutor and expert. Kolja’s films were screened at a number of international film festivals, on many television channels and other venues worldwide. He participated as an artist in residence at the CEC Arts Link (New York), Talent Campus (Berlin and Sarajevo), Animwork – Open Workshop (Denmark), Nipkow programm (Berlin) in addition to winning two awards of the Association of Slovenian filmmakers, the special jury prize at Alternative film festival, and an audience award at Animateka festival. Kolja is the founder and director of the production house ZVVIKS, based in Ljubljana – Slovenia.
Matija ŠturmMatija Šturm is the executive producer responsible for handling the business and legal aspects of the ZVVIKS Institute. He studied at Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana and gained professional experience by working on a variety of projects on a local and international level, such as youth exchange, academic, networking and publishing projects, student policy issues and more. Ultimately, Matija chose to focus on the field of cultural production. Alongside his activities it the ZVVIKS Institute he has been engaged in the sphere of performing arts, particularly theatre, where he continues to develop his competencies by participating in a broad range of workshops and education programs. Matija is a co-founder and legal representative of the production house ZVVIKS, based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
